ATN breaks down a few of the big fitness equipment and technology launches you can expect to see at the upcoming HFA Show in San Diego

Each year, The HFA Show serves as the fitness industry’s largest stage for equipment innovation, offering a glimpse into how training environments are evolving to meet operator needs and consumer expectations.

At The HFA Show 2026 in San Diego, many of the most anticipated launches reflect the industry’s shift toward integrated, data-driven training environments. Rather than standalone machines, manufacturers are increasingly designing equipment, software and recovery tools that work together to deliver personalized member experiences while helping operators manage their facilities more efficiently.

From AI-powered strength systems to integrated recovery platforms, several product debuts this year highlight how the modern fitness floor is becoming more intelligent and scalable.

EGYM Debuts Smart Strength Series 3

One example of the industry’s move toward fully integrated training environments comes from EGYM, which will introduce its new Smart Strength Series 3 machine line alongside a newly positioned operating system designed to connect the training floor with performance data and club management tools.

The latest generation of Smart Strength equipment features upgraded ergonomics, integrated software that automatically adjusts resistance based on user training plans and large eye-level displays that guide workouts in real time.

The machines act as the physical interface for what EGYM describes as a broader operating system for fitness and wellbeing providers, connecting training progress, performance analytics and operational insights across the facility.

EGYM is also partnering with health-measurement company seca to debut the Fitness Hub seca edition, a system designed to simplify member onboarding and body composition analysis. The device delivers medically precise body measurements in seconds and integrates directly into EGYM’s digital ecosystem.

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength Introduces AI Engine, New Equipment

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength will highlight a broader digital ecosystem designed to connect cardio equipment, software and partner integrations into a more personalized training experience for members while giving operators greater visibility across the gym floor.

Central to that effort is Workout Intelligence powered by AugieAI, a feature within the Life Fitness Connect app that delivers personalized workout guidance based on a member’s goals and fitness level. Developed in collaboration with the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the system uses science-backed programming to generate tailored workout recommendations that evolve as members progress. AugieAI is named in honor of the late Augie Nieto, a fitness pioneer and founder of Life Fitness.

The company will also debut new console features designed to streamline the workout experience, including native Google Cast integration for streaming content and NFC-enabled “tap-and-go” sign-in that allows members to instantly load their profiles and preferences on connected equipment.

Alongside these digital capabilities, the brand will introduce several additions to its strength portfolio, including the new Hammer Strength Hack Squat and Super Squat Press. The plate-loaded machines are designed to enhance lower-body training with improved biomechanics and durability while maintaining the brand’s focus on simplicity and performance.

Together, the digital and hardware solutions demonstrate how Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is integrating equipment, software and partner technologies to help operators deliver more personalized training experiences while creating more connected, data-ready gym environments.

Echelon Expands Connected Fitness Ecosystem With Recovery

Echelon will also bring a wide range of new equipment, recovery tools and digital innovations to the show floor.

Among the most notable launches is ThermaChill, a modular recovery system that combines cold and heat therapy with dynamic compression. The platform includes modular wearable components for the legs, upper body and joints, allowing operators to integrate recovery sessions directly into their programming rather than treating recovery as a separate service.

Echelon is also debuting a Stairmill with integrated red light therapy, designed to support circulation, recovery and muscle performance during training, the Alpine Incline Treadmill, which offers advanced incline capabilities and immersive training content for endurance and conditioning, along with the Meridian Reformer, a technology-forward reformer that brings digital integration to Pilates-inspired strength and mobility training.

On the software side, Echelon’s FitHub platform allows previously non-connected fitness equipment to integrate into a digital ecosystem, effectively modernizing existing training floors. Meanwhile, the company’s Workout Builder AI platform generates personalized training programs in real time, helping trainers deliver adaptive programming while streamlining coaching workflows.

Skelcore Teases Next-Gen Strength Line

Another development to watch at HFA comes from Skelcore. The Miami-based fitness equipment and wellness technology company will offer attendees an early look at its upcoming Skelcore 2.0 strength line, designed by industry veteran Roy Simonson, the creator of Cybex Eagle and a longtime innovator in cable-based training systems.

Simonson recently joined Skelcore as head of product design alongside Freemotion Ground Zero founding member Hillis Lake, who was appointed head of U.S. sales.

While details remain closely held, the new strength platform is expected to introduce fresh approaches to biomechanics, variable resistance pathways and performance feedback when it rolls out to partner facilities later this year.
